This 131 page Powerpoint is aimed at Entry 3 - Level 1 learners. I call this lesson ‘back to basics’ and usually teach all of its content on day one of my course. I call it ‘primary and secondary’ school English rolled into three hours. It goes over the basic SPAG that they will need to know before they start writing for the writing module. This is a twenty-nine page PowerPoint that is designed to be used with learners who are due to complete their English Functional Skills writing examination. It is designed for L1 and L2 learners, however, can be used to teach Entry 3 learners. This module is: Letter writing. The PowerPoint is a step-by-step guide of how to write and format a formal letter. At the end of the presentation, there are two letter writing tasks for learners to attempt. For one of the letter writing tasks I have given on-screen ‘tips’ on how to plan the content of the letter and how to ‘bulk out’ a draft in order to raise the learners word count.
